Stock cars return to Road America

The rumble of stock cars will return to Road America with the running of the First Annual Mid American Fall Classic, October 27, 2007. Over 30 cars are expected to compete in the Mid-American Stock Car Series' season finale. Road America has been a scheduled premier event several times in Mid-American's 15-year history. After a two-year road course sabbatical, competitors will again take on Road America's historic 4.048-mile road course which offers challenging turns, dramatic changes in elevation and scenic views of the glacially formed landscaped.

The Mid American Stock Cars Series schedule is designed for Midwest competitors who are self-supported racers passionate about stock cars. Races are held at tracks in Illinois and Wisconsin. Series co-owner Doug Strasburg is pleased about Mid American's return to Road America, "Our teams were thrilled to hear that Road America was on our schedule this year. Our drivers and fans will appreciate the winding, four-mile road course format-it's going to a great experience and a great show."

The event at Road America is a one-day event held in conjunction with the track's annual Cancer Walk/Run, which benefits the American Cancer Society. For registration information for the Cancer Walk/Run, please call 800/ACS-2345 or register on-line, starting in June, at http://main.acsevents.org/MW_RoadAmerica.

Road America offers diverse racing venues, amazing viewing opportunities, fantastic concessions and high-speed excitement to thousands of spectators each year. Located midway between Milwaukee and Green Bay in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, it offers 628 grassy, rolling acres which include the 4.048 circuit and the 0.94 mile paved and dirt supermoto/karting track.

Admission to the Mid American Fall Classic is $20 for the one-day Saturday event. A $5 portion of that ticket price will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Parking and paddock access are free with ticket purchase. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a paid adult. Gate 1 opens at 7:00 a.m. For more information, visit www.roadamerica.com or call 800/365-7223.
