Renault can aim for top in ’07 – Briatore

(GMM) Team boss Flavio Briatore on Friday said he was "content" with Renault's position despite both cars breaking down at Albert Park with fuel pressure problems.

Rookie Heikki Kovalainen was stranded down in 18th position after breaking down quite early, but teammate Giancarlo Fisichella only ground to a stop after setting the fourth best time of all.

The Italian's best time in the first sector, meanwhile, was the quickest of the entire field.

"The car is quite good; we are not worried," Italian Briatore said.

"Fisichella stopped on a really quick lap, so he could have been nearly as quick as the Ferraris.

"Everyone forgets that we are the world champions," he emphasized, "and we have a good car; you will see.

"We know that Ferrari are fast, but if we can sort a couple of things out then we can ride along right at the front in this season."
