PORT-A-COOL returns as team sponsor for Brooks team

Houston, Texas – Port-a-Cool, a Texas based corporation specializing in portable evaporative coolers and a long-time supporter of John Brooks, returns as a sponsor for the team at the Houston Grand Prix. “This race is really important to me," said Rick Campbell, President of Port-a-Cool. “The last time Champ Car was in Houston, it was John’s last race as an Atlantic driver. And being right in our backyard is great visibility for my company! Having this race back in Houston is huge for the city and I know all the locals will enjoy watching these premier series."

“Rick’s been a friend of the team for many years and the series – his units keep several teams cool during the long summer months." said John Brooks, team owner. “We’ll run the Port-a-Cool logo on both our cars for this race in recognition of our history and their loyal support."

The team, field drivers Luis Schiavo and Norbert Siedler, is looking forward to stronger results at the Fast Trac 100. Both drivers were involved in an accident late in the race at Long Beach, but went on to finish. Following the series test day at MSR Houston later this week, the team will head to Houston to finalize its preparations for the weekend.

Port-a-Cool, in business for 16 years, boasted a 40% growth in 2005. Their product lines cool hot spots across the United States, including the sidelines for the Houston Texans and 22 other NFL teams.

Brooks Associates Racing moved into its new building in Tucson in April, following nearly a year of construction. “The building is custom built for our team’s needs; everything else in Tucson was either way too big or inaccessible with the tractor unit. It’s been one of my goals since I retired from driving, to put my team in a proper facility. A few more podiums this year and I’ll be happy!" said John.
