Telmex to sponsor Atlantic team

We here at AutoRacing1 have said a number of times that Champ Car should pursue the Mexican telecommunications giant Telmex to do more to support Mexican drivers in Champ Car. Telmex spends huge amounts of money in racing, just not with a Champ Car team. While Telmex is still not sponsoring anyone in Champ Car, we have learned exclusively that they will be involved in Atlantics. Mexican driver David Martinez will be sponsored by Telmex for the rest of the season. The deal involves enough money for David and Team US/RaceTronics to compete for the whole season. Telmex will be the main sponsor on the car for Houston and Monterrey and will be an associate sponsor for the rest of the races. Jose Arrambide reporting from Mexico
