Toyota shut out of championships, eyeing exit strategy from NASCAR?

The grandstands were less than half full for Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup race in Texas

This is the first time since 2005 that Toyota has been totally shut out in driver and manufacturer championships in NASCAR's top 3 series. Toyota does not appear to be putting in the investment needed to win consistently anymore, and much like they did in F1, will soon walk away from NASCAR.

With its reputation being damaged week in and week out by losing to Ford and Chevy teams, Toyota could already be planning their exit, taking with them the most talented driver in NASCAR, Kyle Busch, to IndyCar where they used to compete and win. They still sponsor the IndyCar Grand Prix of Long Beach.

The grandstands were so empty for Sunday's AAA Texas 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup race they must be asking themselves what are we doing here?
