IndyCar: Friday Morning Report From the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey

Good morning from the beautiful hills at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. The grass in the area is not as green as usual because of the drought in this part of the country.  But that means the weather will be in the high 70s today for the final first practice session for the NTT INDYCAR Series for the 2022 season.

It was over 100 degrees in San Jose when I landed yesterday.  Not the usual California weather for this area in early September.

It is the closest championship since 2013, with five drivers mathematically able to win the Astor Cup.   it is going to be a tense weekend watching who gets the pole and how the drivers run and finish in the race.

The practice session for the IndyCars is at 2:30 pm local time today.
