Hosting a Formula 1 race is an expensive proposition, but the return on investment can be huge.
Some races are government supported because F1 has a worldwide TV audience of 70 million people per race, and it’s a way to showcase their city to the world.
The circuits vary by type and size, the events are spectacular and crowd sizes huge.
