IndyCar: Friday Morning Report from Nashville Music City GP

Welcome to our Friday morning report from the Nashville Music City GP, the last year the race will be run on the existing street circuit.

Good morning from a dreary and wet Nashville, TN, for the 13th round in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.  The weather will be wet, with thunderstorms predicted for this morning into early afternoon, which could affect the schedule for today.

The IndyCar drivers are scheduled for practice one at 3 pm CT today.

Nashville is the capital city of Tennessee and is known as the capital of Country Music. Legendary country music venues include the Grand Ole Opry House, home of the famous “Grand Ole Opry” stage and radio show, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.

Also located in the heart of downtown is the Bridgestone Tower,  the corporate headquarters for Bridgestone Americas, Inc.  The impressive tower has a picture of their Chief Engineer, Cara Krstolic, who works with the tires used in the IndyCar and the INDY NXT by Firestone series, on the glass exterior.

In 2022, the Firestone Firehawk Guayule race tire debuted here and has been featured as the green sidewall alternative tire at four more city circuits during the 2023 season.

The one-year milestone of guayule in racing show Bridgestone’s commitment to a more sustainable future for tires.  Their goal is to achieve carbon neutrality and produce tires from 100% renewable materials by 2050.

Stay tuned for up-to-date information on the schedule.
