MotoGP: Zarco tops FP1 in Austria
Johann Zarco turned a lap of 1m29.838s on his Ducati to top FP1 at the Austrian MotoGP, 4/10ths clear of Fabio Quartararo’s Yamaha.
Maverick Vinales was third quick on his Aprilia, 0.411s behind.
The Ducatis of Alex Marquez and Marco Bezzecchi rounded out the top-5.
With fast times being saved for this afternoon’s Practice 2 session, FP1 was largely a track cleaning session.
Washed up Marc Marquez went down yet again.
The Repsol Honda rider overshot his braking point at turn 4, drove into the gravel and then went down, the eight-time world champion looking nothing like his old self.
Bezzecchi ran into trouble twice as he ran off circuit at the chicane late.
