IndyCar News: Kirkwood tops final day of Homestead testing

Andretti IndyCar w/Curb Agajanian driver Kyle Kirkwood (shown above) turned the fastest lap Wednesday in preseason testing on the Homestead-Miami Roval.

Kirkwood, driving the #98 Honda that Marco Andretti will pilot in the Indy 500, turned a lap of 1m11.277s to beat Meyer Shank Racing’s Tom Blomqvist by 0.199s.

Over the 3-day test, the #98 Andretti Honda was fastest on two days at the hands of Colton Herta (yesterday) and then by Kirkwood today.

Linus Lundqvist was 3rd in the #8 Chip Ganassi Honda, as once again Honda-powered IndyCars ran 1-2-3.

Rinus Veekay was the fastest Chevy driver, 0.439s behind Kirkwood in his #21 Ed Carpenter Chevy IndyCar.

Christian Lundgaard rounded out the top-5 for Rahal Letterman Lanigan, 0.597s off the pace.

Nolan Siegel was a reasonable 5th as he hopes to show Dale Coyne what he is capable of doing, 0.565s off the pace in the #18 Honda.
