Formula 1 News: 2024 F1 season sets new multiple win record
George Russell’s victory in the Las Vegas Grand Prix set a new all-time Formula 1 record, breaking a 43-year record in the process.
In winning the race, Russell became the seventh different driver to win multiple races in a single season – eclipsing the previous record of six set in 1981.
Whereas Nelson Piquet won the 1981 title with 3 wins, Max Verstappen needed 8 wins to win in 2024
The record for most winners in a single season came in 1982, with 11 different winners from 16 races, but there were not as many multiple race winners.
