Poland eyes grand prix future

(GMM) Poland could be the next destination to bid for a grand prix, according to reports.

Gdansk, a large port city in the north of the country, is planning a 5.7 kilometer circuit, to be built at a cost of some (US) $285 million, the German news agency 'sid' claimed.

The popularity of formula one in the central European country has increased considerably with the success of BMW-Sauber's Polish race driver, Robert Kubica.

Poland has never hosted a round of the formula one world championship.
