This is a Champ Car. The Indy Racing League is racing the Milwaukee Mile Sunday.
In order to thrive and survive, the circus world now has Ringling Bros., Barnum & Bailey. The story here is that there's evidence that the auto racing world, within weeks, perhaps days, could be looking at a merger to become the Champ Car Indy Racing League.
Edmonton race backers aren't speaking to the subject, but they were convinced to spend $1.5 million to move the main grandstand and pit area to accommodate 35 pits for the future. Doesn't that telegraph their expectations?
[Editor's Note: Given the way the IRL and Champ Car are conducting business as if no merger is planned, including developing race schedules with date conflicts, gives no indication a merger is imminent despite what this article says, though the author reveals a name for the new league as if it was leaked to him, so…….hmmm…..]
