NASCAR/Champ Car relationship improving

NASCAR's vice president Jim France was in Mexico City last Friday and Saturday with the Grand-Am series. There will be two Grand-Am races next year with Champ Car at Long Beach and Mexico City and ALMS at Houston.

NASCAR CEO Brian France also flew to Mexico from Texas on Saturday and Kalkhoven met with the Frances.

"We met and we talked about how to work together," Kalkhoven commented. "This has not been a series that has worked well together with other series in the past and part of everything we do is about building bridges."

He acknowledged that his talks with the Frances is another indicator of Champ Car's growth.

"I doubt if two years ago we would have been able to have the relationships we have today," Kalkhoven remarked. Champ Car
