Video: The booming China car market

Many car companies are expanding their operations in China as the number of passenger cars being sold continues to grow at record levels. Some reports suggest 8.5 million cars will be sold in China in 2007 alone. To meet this demand, Volvo Cars has increased its sales by 60.5% in the first quarter of 2007 and expects to increase its sales by 100% this year. At the moment, Volvo Cars’ 50 dealers in China are upgrading to expand business in their areas. Over the past 12 months, 20 new or revamped Volvo showrooms have opened their doors. On Saturday, June 9th, Chinese President Hu Jintao will be visiting the Volvo facilities in Gothenburg, Sweden.
