A1GP bleeds more red ink in Mexico

UPDATE According to Reforma/El Norte only 15,000 fans attended the A1GP race yesterday in Mexico City, and only 20,000 fans attended over the 3 days. J. J. Arrambide Gonzalez reporting from Mexico

03/26/07 The A1GP race in Mexico was a complete attendance failure. The grandstands at "Hermanos Rodriguez" were sparsely filled. I predicted this race would not have a lot of attendees when the date was announced. What a bad idea to schedule a race the same month as the Busch Series and the FIA World Rally events were going to be in Mexico, especially with the Busch Series and Juan Pablo Montoya visiting the same track. Add to this the fact there were almost no pre-race ads for the race and the fact the Mexican Soccer National Team had a game scheduled almost at the same time as the feature race (The feature race began at 3:00 P.M. local time and the soccer game at 2:00 P.M. local time) and this was a recipe for a failure.
