Formula 1 Rumor: Ferrari re-signs Leclerc for 5 years

The Italian publication Gazzetta Dello Sport reports that Ferrari and Charles Leclerc have agreed a 5-year contract extension through 2029.

The official announcement is said to be imminent and that Leclerc’s annual salary will increase on a sliding scale from $25 million to $50 million.

There are some doubts regarding Carlos Sainz’ situation. Carlos would like to renew for at least 2 years, but Ferrari could opt for a 1-year extension only, to continue monitoring opportunities in the driver market.

Also, Sainz has long been rumored as a possible Audi F1 driver starting in 2026.
